I think animal studies are good too, though if you include anatomy/reference charts it's more beneficial to the purpose of the blog. Which is to produce and share creature art. So.. I'm for it.

I don't think so...the reason I like all of the not "real" creatures is that you can see a cow, or a pig, or a ring tailed lemur in the "real" world. I'm really more interested in seeing things that you can't see in our world.
Yes i think so. I love animals ( the missus and I have two horses and two cats ), but I've spent the last eight years working in the carcass ( poultry ) trade. It's a horrible life for those poor chickens and a soul destroying place for humans. I started drawing comics about it as a sort of therapy for myself. But I guess it always depends on what context.
Dude that's a fantastic idea. Actually in our creature design class we studied the anatomies of all kind of animals. It gives you a knowledge of how a body is put together and functions, and is also extremely helpful for rigging and modeling in 3D. And then, if you wanna make something no one has seen before, you can combine the anatomies of different creatures and and actually have them be able to function.
